Beginning Improv Workshop

Saturday, May 30, 2009

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This workshop is for anyone who is interested in learning about the basics of improvisation. In this 6 hour session (with breaks if you are good), we will teach you about the concepts of listening, yes-and, character, and building scenes. We welcome beginners.

Registration cost: $25. Location TBA.

Following the workshop, we will offer four additional 2 hour sessions over the course of four weeks for those who wish to continue training. The cost of the four sessions is $50 total. Upon completion of these sessions, participants will have a chance to perform as a team at one of our Iron Post shows. More information will be provided following the workshop.

A little about Zoo Improv Zoo Improv is a not-for-profit organization comprised of a diverse group of actors who love improvisation. Our ensemble includes certified teachers in theatre and music, professionally trained performers, and improvisers. Additionally, Zoo Improv has received training from associates of iO Chicago, Chicago Improv Festival, Annoyance, and pH Productions. Each of our performances is versatile, unique, and tailored to the audience.
