After way too long, Zoo Improv is back. Join us December 16 at The Station Theatre in Urbana. We are once again teaming up with Class Act for a kids show at 7:00 pm. Then our full adult show at 8:30 pm. Can't wait to make stuff up!

Training

Training? (Sure! You can call it that.)

February 6, 2023 through and including March 27, we will be opening our rehearsals to anyone who wants to come give improv a try! We rehearse on Monday evenings, 7 - 9 p.m. You don't need prior experience. None at all! It's also fine if you do have a bunch of experience! We'd love to play with you no matter how good you feel you are or are not. We'll tailor the rehearsal to the skill levels of the people who are present and have a great time!

Improv is only very slightly about entertaining a room full of people who are not improvising. The art of improvisational theatre is an ego-dissolving, creativity-tapping, childhood-remembering, emotion expressing, relationship-exploring process of stripping away all that politeness you think is "supposed" to be and just discovering a world with the person in the scene with you. Who are you? Who are they? Where are we? What are we doing? Why should anyone care? Pro tip... we don't make it up, we find out! Come see how that happens!

We'll send another letter out just after the First of the Year to remind you! She will keep a roster so that we know who to expect, and will communicate with you about the address and dates meeting up with us and all that.
