<p>Rachel Schiff, classical guitarist "bio below", will be appearing at my<br />
gallery, Indi Go , on July 1st, 2nd and 3rd at 7 and 9pm. Each performance<br />
will be approximately 30-40 minutes in length and will feature works that<br />
will be performed at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy in late<br />
July.</p>
<p> Thursday July 2nd, Ryan Groff, of Elsinore, will be a guest performer for<br />
both shows and will accompany Rachel vocally on an additional featured song.<br />
Ryan has trained in classical voice performance.</p>
<p> Wine will be available for purchase by the glass. Show is sponsored by<br />
Boltini, where big kids play !!</p>
<p> Donations are suggested.</p>

<p> Rachel Schiff has been studying the classical guitar for over fifteen years.<br />
She has recently completed her Bachelors degree at Northwestern University<br />
and will return in the fall to complete her Masters degree in Guitar<br />
Performance under the guidance of Anne Waller. Rachel has played in master<br />
classes with prominent guitar figures such as Oscar Ghiglia, Raphaella<br />
Smits, Dale Kavanagh, Shinichi Fukuda, and David Russell. Rachel has<br />
received numerous awards including first place in the University of<br />
Illinois' Sigma Alpha Iota Solo Competition as well as receiving high honors<br />
in the National Honors Society Classical Guitar Contest. Additionally, she<br />
has performed in several theater productions including Twelfth Night and A<br />
Midwinter's Tale.<br />
This summer, Rachel will travel to Europe to attend the Accademia Musicale<br />
Chigiana in Siena, Italy and the 18th International Guitar Symposium in<br />
Iserlohn, Germany</p>

<p>Tomorrow night, Tuesday June 30, Zoo Improv will begin a series of smaller-team shows at the <a href="http://www.indi-go-art.com/">Indi Go Gallery</a> in downtown Champaign at 9 E University (across from the City Building). Come check us out at 8 or 10:30 or both! We'll follow that for the next several Tuesdays with more, so come and see us!</p>
<p> </p>
<p>We're also excited to be participating in a Dance Party at the corner of Neil and Main for the <a href="http://www.downtownchampaign.com/">Champaign Downtown Association</a>'s first <a href="http://www.downtownchampaign.com/2009/06/happy-tuesdays-in-downtown-champaign/">Happy Tuesday</a> event! We'll be hitting the street at 6 pm for ten minutes of getting down, so come and join us as we dance like no-one is watching!</p>

Come see us from 7 to 8:30 pm on June 27 for only four dollars! </p><br />
<p>It has recently come to our attention that this strikes a lot of people as being a lot of money to pay for entertainment. It is, after all, worth almost two days of Basic Cable, a whole bag of Frito Lay "product," or a whole case of soda pop. Why, you can even buy ONE WHOLE (decent) BEER in a bar for that much! You can't go to the movies, see a band, or get in to just about any other performance venue for that much, so get over the cover charge stigma, it's all a lie. It's so worth it.</p><br />
<p>As always, we guarantee to be the absolutely funniest and/or most technically perfect improvised comedy show playing in a bar which has annexed a huge amount of wothless City pavers as their beer garden. Guaranteed.</p><br />

<p align="center" class="style7"><strong>Beginning Improv Workshop</strong><br />

<strong>Saturday, May 30, 2009<br />
<br />
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.</strong></p>
<p align="left" class="style7"> This workshop is for anyone who is interested in learning about the basics of improvisation. In this 6 hour session (with breaks if you are good), we will teach you about the concepts of listening, yes-and, character, and building scenes. We welcome beginners. <br /><br />
Registration cost: $25. Location TBA.<br /><br />
Following the workshop, we will offer four additional 2 hour sessions over the course of four weeks for those who wish to continue training. The cost of the four sessions is $50 total. Upon completion of these sessions, participants will have a chance to perform as a team at one of our Iron Post shows. More information will be provided following the workshop.<br /><br />
To register for the May 30 workshop, send an email by May 25 to <a href="mailto: contact@zooimprov.com">contact@zooimprov.com</a> with your name, age, email, and level of improv experience.<br />

A little about Zoo Improv Zoo Improv is a not-for-profit organization comprised of a diverse group of actors who love improvisation. Our ensemble includes certified teachers in theatre and music, professionally trained performers, and improvisers. Additionally, Zoo Improv has received training from associates of iO Chicago, Chicago Improv Festival, Annoyance, and pH Productions. Each of our performances is versatile, unique, and tailored to the audience. <br /><br />

All this other stuff going on, we bet you were beginning to wonder, “Do they ever just perform?”<br />

Well, believe it or not, this week Zoo has two shows for you to come and laugh until you pee a little. </p>
<p class="style7">Wednesday, April 15 @ 8 pm - our regular 3rd Wednesday show at the <a href="http://www.theironpost.com/">Iron Post</a> as the community kicks off the <a href="http://www.40north.org/events/festival.html">Boneyard Arts Festival</a>. $4.<br />
<br />
Saturday, April 18 @ 2pm - Theatre in the Streets Festival on Broadway in downtown Urbana. Come early and stick around for a whole line-up of entertainment. The event is free, outdoors, and suitable for all ages.<br />

We’ve got more fun ways for you to participate in the Boneyard Arts Festival this year! Zoo Improv is partnering with Krannert Center for the Performing Arts to bring you three Dance Breaks. At three separate times in three separate locations all business and conversation shall stop and a great mix of music will play out into the streets so that everyone can get down for 10 solid minutes. All you need to do is be there and be ready to groove. We want all shapes, sizes, ages, and abilities to come join us! <br />

Thursday, April 16 @ 7:50 pm in Downtown Champaign, outside of the Esquire on Walnut St.<br />

Friday, April 17 @ 1:50 pm on Campus just outside of Krannert Center for the Performing Arts<br />
<br />
Saturday, April 18 @ 5:50 pm in Downtown Urbana, outside of the Iron Post at the corner of Race and Elm St.<br />

How often is it that you just get to stop everything and have a 10 minute party? Come join us and be a part the Boneyard Dance Breaks! <br />
