  • April 22: Zoo Improv’s Furiday Night Long Form Improv Comedy Show

We’re excited to be offering a new format of show for our guests.  In addition to our Interactive Kid-friendly Family Show on the last Friday of each month we are adding a highly interactive Cage-Free Show for the “grown-up” audiences on the first Friday of each month.

Learn to Improvise

Zoo Improv offers classes and workshops.  Our eight week beginning improv session ended just before spring break.  Starting April 7 we’ll be offering several weeks of targeted workshops.  Workshops and classes meet on Thursday, 7-9 pm, at SoDo Theatre, 111 S. Walnut.  Fees for these targeted workshops are $10/night.  Sign up for all 7 weeks in advance for just $60.  See our Workshops and Education page for the details on each class.

Here’s why you should take improv classes:  Learn to tap into your own inner improviser, use your imagination to its fullest, and say “Yes, and” to any given circumstances.  The exercises and practices taught for improvisation can benefit all types of people in all walks of life.  Learning improv skills can improve your performance skills, leadership, teamwork, positivity, and help to unleash your creativity.

Auditions

We will be holding auditions on May 23rd and 26th at SoDo Theatre from 7-9 pm.  Anyone is welcome to audition.  Our auditions are held in a workshop format.  We recommend that you plan to stay for most or all of the two hour session so we can get to know you and work with you.  Participating with the team following auditions means a minimum 6-month commitment to participating in rehearsals on Monday evenings from 7 - 9 and shows on Friday evenings from 630 - 9.  Of course, no-one can make it to every night, but please plan to do your best!
